Delhi News Live Updates: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Amit Shah and JP Nadda on Friday paid their last respect at the national capital at the residence of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh . The Central government has announced seven days mourning in honour of the former Prime Minister who died late Thursday night. Sandeep Dikshit of Congress said the cremation is expected to occur tomorrow as the family is still waiting for his daughter who is currently lodged in Australia.
From AIIMS, Delhi, Manmohan Singh’s mortal remains were taken to his residence at 3 Motilal Nehru Marg late Thursday night. Every government activity planned for Friday has been suspended. It is also worth to cover that during the mourning period the national flag is displayed half-staff in the entire territory of the country. State funeral will indeed be accorded to the late Manmohan Singh, this according to the Home Ministry.
Regarding the weather, it was a rainy Friday that woke up Delhi. The IMD has issued an orange alert, predicting light to moderate rain with thunderstorms until 11:30 am. The minimum temperature has increased to 11 centigrade, which is four degrees above the normal rates.
