After the exit polls predicted a big win for BJP in the Delhi Assembly elections, AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) continues to show confidence. The voting for the elections took place on February 5, 2025. Most exit polls suggest that BJP is likely to win nearly 50 seats and make a strong comeback in Delhi after 27 years. On the other hand, AAP is expected to win fewer than 30 seats, and the Congress party is predicted to struggle, with their seat count unlikely to exceed 3.

Scuffle Between AAP and BJP Workers in Sangam Vihar

A scuffle broke out late at night between AAP and BJP workers in the Sangam Vihar area of Delhi. Both parties accused each other of starting the fight, claiming their workers were injured in the incident. However, Delhi Police has not received any formal complaints from either party yet.

How Accurate Were Previous Exit Polls?

Exit polls have had mixed results in Delhi’s elections, especially since AAP emerged in 2013. In 2013, the exit polls predicted a hung Assembly but underestimated AAP’s strength. In 2015 and 2020, while the polls expected AAP to win, they still underestimated how many seats AAP would actually get. For example, in 2015, exit polls predicted 45 seats for AAP, but they won 67. By 2020, the exit polls became more accurate, with predictions aligning closely with AAP’s 62-seat win, showing improvement in the accuracy of polling over the years.
