Delhi-NCR felt earthquake tremors on Monday morning. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported a 4.0 magnitude earthquake in New Delhi at 5:36 AM. The earthquake occurred at a depth of five kilometers, with the epicenter near Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education in Dhaula Kuan.

Officials told PTI that the Dhaula Kuan area, which has a nearby lake, has experienced small earthquakes every 2-3 years. In 2015, a 3.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the same area.
People’s Experience:
A loud sound was also heard when the earthquake struck. The strong tremors caused residents in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad to rush outside their buildings.
A woman in her 50s, who was on a morning walk in Noida Sector 20, shared her experience:
“We were walking in the park, so we didn’t feel it much at first. But the tremors were strong, and many people rushed outside.”
