After the death of 34-year-old Atul Subhash due to suicide, where the wife has been accused of harassing him, the Bengaluru Police have filed a report to Uttar Pradesh Police to trace the accused involved in the case.
Munnekollal’s Atul Subhash was found dead at his residence on Monday. His brother Bikas Kumar lodged a complaint against his estranged wife Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha Singhania, brother Anurag Singhania and uncle Sushil Singhania. The police of Marathahalli later filed a case for abetment of suicide against them. They are said to have threatened to withdraw cases filed against Atul for Rs 3 crore and for visitation rights of the boy for Rs 30 lakh.
There was a team from Marathahalli police station, which was sent to Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday to look into the case, as per the police source. Further, a senior officer echoed, “The investigating officer will further decide whether he would be serving notices to these suspects or arresting them”.
According to the information release, Nisha along with Anurag left their home in Jaunpur Wednesday night late. Videos that went viral saw them leaving around midnight. Jaunpur SP Ajaypal Sharma said on Thursday, “It is not indeed that we have received any official communication from the Bengaluru Police.”
Atul’s in-laws lawyer Vijay Mishra said that he was surprised by the circumstances and revealed that Nikita had filed a maintenance case against Atul. He insisted that much effort must be made to know why he had to take his own life into his hands.
, Sushil Singhania, Nikita’s uncle and one of the accused standing trial for these acts said, “I have no connection with this case, and the divorce proceedings have been going on for three years.” Our family has not committed any crime, it’s the false allegations made by Subhash. Nikita will respond to everything in court.”
A police officer said that Nisha Singhania and her son Piyush started on a motorcycle around 1 a.m. on Thursday from their Khowa Mandi residence and did not return. The in-charge of Kotwali police station, Inspector Mithilesh Mishra said that no arrest warrant has been made for Nisha or any other accused. Nikita and Atul got married in April 2019, and in 2022 Nikita had lodged an FIR against Atul and his family members for dowry demands.
