Delhi Election 2025: Arvind Kejriwal Attacks BJP Over Manifesto, Says BJP Has Copied AAP Campaign Pledges
Arvind Kejriwal – the former Delhi Chief Minister on Friday sharply attacked the BJP alleging that the BJP had copied most of AAP welfare oriented poll promises for the forthcoming Delhi assembly elections.
How BJP has failed to deliver its vision in Delhi?: Kejriwal
Kejriwal dared Modi to admit that opposition to ‘revdis’ or freebies that were declared right before the polls was wrong. The AAP leader also noted that the BJP seemed to replicate AAP’s policies as captured in its election manifesto.
“If you look at the BJP manifesto, what it is trying to tell voters is that whatever Kejriwal is doing is correct. The BJP is appreciating my work and assure that whoever they vote, my efforts shall be carried on. People are beginning to doubt their vision towards Delhi. They want to fight elections in our assurances. I have never seen the party which has no vision,” said Kejriwal.
BJP’s Manifesto: ₹2,500 Cash for Women and Other Schemes
Kejriwal’s comments were made in the wake of the BJP releasing its election manifesto, with one of its top pledged to offer ₹2,500 monthly to women in the event of the Delhi elections. This proposal elaborates AAP’s direct competitor in the form of ‘Mahila Samman Yojana’ wherein the women in the capital are paid ₹2,100 per month.
Congress party has also come up with similar policy put forward ₹2500 per month for women if comes to power in Delhi.
Kejriwal Slams BJP Tells Them They Reduced Politics to Freebies
“None reported their ‘Sankalp Patra’, released today by BJP national president JP Nadda, lacks many basic facilities and服務s as freebies. Why did I not get a chance to ask him if PM Modi supports the idea of freebies,” Kejriwal said.
Besides ₹2,500 per month to women, BJP’s poll promise was to provide ₹500 per cylinder rebate on domestic LPG and one more cylinder free each in Holi and Diwali. Alongside this, the BJP promised ₹21,000 for pregnant women in case they win the Delhi government.

“A number of times PM Modi has stated that freebies (revdis) are detrimental for the country.” He even tried to pin me down for freely distributing revdis. However, BJP has just crowned a new national president, he said they will also distribute Kejriwal’s freebies. It is time for PM Modi to accept that he erred, that they for one was correct. At one point he should say that freebies are not bad but are like ‘prasad’ from God said Kejriwal, during one press conference.
Promises to welfare Schemes by BJP
The BJP has also extended the commitment to ensure the continuance of all the existing welfare schemes in Delhi.
Delhi Elections 2025: Election Date and Results
Assembly elections in the Delhi for the 70 constituencies are proposed for February 5th, 2025. The release of such findings is scheduled for 8th February, 2025. BJP has had no governance in Delhi for the last 27 years and AAP under Kejriwal’s leadership has emerged comfortable winner both in 2015 as well as in 2020. Also before AAP, which came into power in 2013, was the Congress party that ruled over Delhi from 1998.
