BJP’s "Achievements in Delhi" book released

AAP’s ‘next-level’ trolling before assembly elections: BJP’s “Achievements in Delhi” book released — but it’s empty

Delhi Election 2025: AAP mocks BJP with blank book titled ‘BJP’s Achievements in Delhi,’ highlighting unfulfilled promises. Senior leader Sanjay Singh uses this satire to call attention to BJP’s failures and empty pledges since 2014.

Delhi Election 2025: AAP Releases Blank Book Mocking BJP’s ‘Achievements’ in Delhi

Ahead of the Delhi Election 2025, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released a blank book titled ‘BJP’s Achievements in Delhi’ to mock the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for failing to deliver on its election promises. The book has been placed in bookstores across the city as a satirical gesture against the BJP.

The Book Release and AAP’s Criticism

On January 20, AAP senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh launched the book in both English and Hindi (Dilli Me Bhajpa Ki Uplabdhiyan). Singh criticized the BJP for not fulfilling its promises on important issues like housing and economic reforms.

Singh sarcastically said, “They (BJP) won’t talk about their achievements, so we’ve released this book for them.” As he flipped through the blank pages of the book, he mentioned the BJP’s failed pledges from the 2014 elections, including promises of permanent housing, doubling farmers’ incomes, strengthening the rupee, and improving border security.

Sarcastic Remarks on BJP’s Claims

Singh further added in a sarcastic tone, “The first page talks about how 2 crore jobs were created every year, the second page is about ₹15 lakh being deposited in everyone’s bank accounts, and the third page mentions how every farmer’s income has increased.”

Delhi Election 2025 and BJP’s Struggles

The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for February 5, 2025, with results expected on February 8. AAP, led by Arvind Kejriwal, had a clear win in both the 2015 and 2020 elections. The BJP, which has been out of power in Delhi for 27 years, secured only a few seats in the last two elections. The Congress, which ruled Delhi for 15 years before 2013, was wiped out in the last elections.

BJP’s Response to AAP’s Act

On January 21, some social media users and AAP supporters shared videos claiming that the black books were being put in bookstores. However, Mint could not confirm these claims.

The BJP criticized AAP for this act and accused Sanjay Singh of plotting conspiracies. The BJP pointed out that various Modi government initiatives, such as the redevelopment of Rajpath, Delhi University complexes, Nauroji Nagar trade centers, and the expansion of Metro Phase 4 and RRTS network, were delayed because AAP withheld funds.

BJP’s Achievements: Virendra Sachdeva Responds

Virendra Sachdeva, Delhi BJP president, responded by listing achievements under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, including expressways like Urban Extension Road-2, Dwarka Expressway, Meerut Expressway, Eastern-Western Corridor, and the Pragati Maidan tunnel, which have improved travel and reduced pollution.

These remarks reflect the BJP’s defense against the AAP’s claims, emphasizing their own version of progress in Delhi.
