BJP Unveils the Second Phase of Delhi Election Manifesto Majoring on Students and Welfare

New Delhi:
The BJP released the second half of its Delhi elections, which is often referred to as a ‘sankalp patra,’ on Tuesday. The party claimed to be working for solving the citizens’ problems and stated it would set a committee to investigate the cases of misgovernance and corruption under the AAP.

Freebies for Students and Cash Aid Declared

In its electoral manifestos, the BJP unveiled its packages of freebies details, which includes free education at Delhi government institutions from nursery to post graduate level for all denotified and rural students. It also promised Rs 15, 000 cash for boys and girls appearing at entrance examination together with transport allowance.

Also, students of Scheduled Castes pursuing technical and professional courses shall be provided Rs 1,000 per month, as per the BJP’s proposals.

The BJP’s strategic two-part manifesto

For the first time, the BJP has segregated its poll plank into two parts. The first part that was disclosed the previous week was mostly about the bonuses for women voters, who is believed to be the target electorate. While the second part of the project was unveiled now, it attempts to highlight student welfare and includes a new ‘skills training’ program for over 1,50,000 youths men and women.

BJP slams AAP over deaths of Civil service aspirants

The BJP attacked the AAP again concerning the three final year civil service examinees who died due to heavy flooding in the city in July of the past year. Old Rajinder Nagar saw the young souls lost with Shreya Yadav, 25; Tanya Soni, 25; and Nevin Delvin, 24 losing their lives after basement of a building was flooded with water due to post monsoon rains.

These announcements were made by Union Minister Anurag Thakur and he was categorical that these assurances shall be delivered in a ‘‘time-bound’ while canvassing for the BJP in the elections. Thakur pointed that all these were accompanied by a guarantee, Modi ki guarantee.

Welfare for Domestic Workers and Drivers

On this other issues, BJP also released details of its pre-poll manifesto, including the setting up of a welfare board for domestic workers apart from a life insurance of Rs 10 lakhs and accident insurance of Rs 5 lakhs. Everyone, from autorickshaw drivers who are one of the key voter groups of AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal to the taximen who constitute an equally important vote bank , were promised life insurance, accident cover and scholarship for their children.

AAP Responds to BJP Party’s Manifesto

The AAP did not waste much time in responding to the BJP’s second set of poll pledges. Kejriwal had reminded BJP when they first declared the poll manifesto that the BJP has many of AAP welfare policies and why should the voters should vote for BJP. The BJP countered by saying that Kejriwal did not know the difference between gimmicks and real work.

This time Kejriwal pointed at a clause in BJP manifesto where free education only to eligible children in Delhi government schools was included. He said this would lead to unnecessary bureaucracy such as parents going to BJP offices many time before admitting their children. Kejriwal said, “Last week, BJP threatened that free healthcare would be withdrawn… today, they have said that free education will be withdrawn.” Let the people of Delhi be careful & do not vote to BJP, else your house expenses will be messed up and living in Delhi will become a nightmare for you.
