BJP to Elect Delhi’s Next Chief Minister After 27 Years

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has returned to power in Delhi after 27 years, winning 48 out of 70 seats in the recent 2025 Delhi Assembly election. However, the party has not yet announced who will be the next Chief Minister of Delhi.

Meeting on February 19

BJP is expected to select its Chief Minister during a meeting of its newly elected MLAs on February 19. Many senior leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, chief ministers from BJP-ruled states, NDA leaders, and Union ministers, are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony.

Top Contenders for Delhi’s Chief Minister

Parvesh Verma

• Defeated Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi constituency in the 2025 election.

Vijender Gupta
