NEW DELHI: Rishabh Pant went though a torrid time on the first day of the fifth and final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the SCG on Friday, a blow from Mitchell Starc short delivery.
The event was captured on 35th over of India’s innings where Pant tried to play a rising delivery from Starc and got hit on the arm. The shock caused a clear mark on the skin that turned black soon after. Pampant quickly asked for help from the medical team and the team physio put ice on the wound.
The drama didn’t stop there.
After that, there was one more fiery short ball in the very next over from Starc at 144.6 kmph that hit Pant’s helmet. The ball was directly on the grill and hardly any chance for Pant to do something.
Since Pant was fallen off his wicket and was lying twized in much pain, worried about his condition, Starc immediately went towards him which is not expected from a competitor but a true sportsman spirit was seen from him.
