IND vs AUS 5th Test: Fascinating moments were recorded on the second day of New Year’s Test between India and Australia in Sydney; especially when KL Rahul pulled of a stunning catch that saw Mitchell Starc depart for the pavilion with the Aussies now at 8/300. There were problems for the hosts whenIndia’s bowling attempted to exploit, and the team was in deep trouble. Starc had no option but to play a defensive shot after a short delivery from Nitish Kumar Reddy who was bowling around the wickets.
Starc who was trying to be innovative and play the shot on the backfoot got it wrong as the ball hit the side of his shoulder. It then angled away towards the second slip and KL Rahul, known for being a wicket-keeper, lunged forward and took a low catch.

However, on the ground, on-field umpires resolved to give the Australian captain the right decision by reviewing the catch. When replay was shown, it was finally seen that Rahul had touched the ball with fingers and the catch was clean. Smelling fish right out of the water, Starc looked utterly dismayed and walked back to the pavilion thus leaving more confusion in the making Australian team.
