Sneha Welcomes Arjun Home
On Saturday morning, in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), Sneha was waiting outside their home with their children. She instantly hugged Arjun, looked visibly affected after he was released and said he shouldn’t have come home.
Sneha had been comforted by Arjun before his arrest on Friday; he kissed her on her cheek when she stood next to him while he finished his coffee.
Gradually, the worst instincts of the middle class were to emerge as well — not only in their willingness to stand by and watch Arjun, the first case of the new dispensation of justice, be locked up for two months on mere suspicion, but also in their vindictiveness when he finally got out, entirely unapologised for and ready to fight back.

Details of Arjun’s Arrest
Arjun was released early Saturday morning after spending Friday night in jail. It was only late Friday evening that the authorities did not produce any copy of the bail order granted by the Telangana High Court last Wednesday to release him. His lawyer Ashok Reddy told the media at Chanchalguda jail, “Yes, he has been released.” After that, Arjun was accompanied home with his family.
Reddy also took time to condemn the delay that he said, “You should question the government and the department as to why they did not release him.” Order of High Court is specific and he should have been released the moment order was handed over to them. This he emphasised constitutes as ‘torture’, thus unlawful detention and stressed that the team would take legal action.
What led to the arrest of Arjun?
It was also established that Arjun was held as a “special category prisoner ”during his detention period. Alleged arrest of the actor on Friday morning led to a series of dramatic chain of events. He was then taken to court after which he was released on a 14 day judicial remand. But his lawyers managed to persuade the High Court for an interim bail and he was shifted to Chanchalguda prison just before the order was made.
The arrest followed a tragic incident on December 4 at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, where a 35-year-old woman died and her 8-year-old son was hospitalized after a stampede-like situation occurred during the screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule. Quite a many people had came to watch the actor. Being charged under various sections of the IPC after the incident by the city police on the complaint of the woman’s side, Arjun not only involved his security team but also the theatre management.
