‘Sky Force’ Movie Review: A Tribute to the 1965 Indo-Pak War
The two directors Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur brought to screen the brave history of the 1965 Indo-Pak War through their film ‘Sky Force’. Through the film the Indian Air Force displays its audacious attack against the fortified Sargodha airbase in Pakistan. Throughout 20 years a Wing Commander relentlessly pursued the factual explanation after his brave pilot and acquaintance vanished unexpectedly.
Characters and Performances
Indian actor Akshay Kumar plays Wing Commander Kumar Om Ahuja in the film while under the influence of actual war hero O.P. Taneja. Veer Pahariya emerges as Squadron Leader T. Krishna Vijaya in a debut film role where he depicts the life story of Ajjamada B. Devaiah. Strong acting performances beyond Akshay Kumar are delivered by Sara Ali Khan along with Nimrat Kaur and Sharad Kelkar and others allowing the story to reach greater complexity. President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan together with Defence Minister Yashwantrao Chavan appear in the flick giving the movie genuine authenticity.

Audience interest in ‘Sky Force’ for upcoming Republic Day celebrations has generated Rs 2 crore from early ticket sales based on people’s preference for Hindi-language 2D showings.
