The Opposition is preparing for a massive demonstration in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha as Congress MP Manickam Tagore gave an Adjournment Motion notice on Thursday in the Lok Sabha 19th December 2024. The motion seeks to bring a debate on matters which Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said in his speech with demands of apology and his resignation.
The Lok sabha and Rajya Sabha was prorogued on Wednesday 19 december, 2024 opposition some members have been regualrly protesting against the Home Minister’s alleged vituperative language against B.R.Ambedkar. In the Rajya Sabha, the Trinamool Congress went a step ahead of this by raising a privilege motion against the Home Minister. There could be no legislative business in either House.
Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Indian Opposition force and a member of Congress party, is to convene a meeting of party MPs in the main committee room of the Parliament Annexe to firm up the next course of action. In response to the Ambedkar remark row Congress is planning to stage a protest outside Parliament.
On the other side, BJP also claimed to go with its protest against the opposition intent of resignation demand for Amit Shah which is indicative of the political temperature.
